Summer Reading
Summer is a great time of fun and relaxation, but kids may experience learning losses when they don’t read during the summer. Studies show that children who read four or more books over the summer do better on reading tests in the fall than those who read only one or no books. Encourage your children to read over the summer. Let them choose the books they want to read and make sure that they have access to a wide variety of age-appropriate books. The librarian has compiled a list of recommended books and local library information and gave it to students at their last library class. Have a great summer and a wonderful time reading.
